[TYSW] FROM CANNES WITH MELANCHOLIA

Lars Von Trier and the last day's friends on the croisette.

"The kid with a bike" dei fratelli Dardenne con Cécile de France e Thomas Doret.
"The Tree of Life" di Terrence Malik, super atteso ed anche super sparticritica

HIER [Yesterday in Cannes] presented one of the most awaited films at the festival, Melancholia, by the bad boy from Denmark Lars Von Trier [who shocked the press after saying "I understand Hitler" while joking arund his german roots and the danish director Susanne Bier]. Is it a film about the end of the world? "No, rather a film about a state of mind in which I moved several times during my life, a feeling that exists in all the art I love". To give voice to Lars on-screen, Kirsten Dunst and Charlotte Gainsburg [besides the close friend Udo Kier] sisters in celebrating a marriage that will be the beginning of the end of the world. VT still have fun in loosing control on the set [The first and the second time that made him snap up two Palme d'Or for the Waves and Dancer in the Dark] but he refined movements and photography by getting inspired from german paintings and masters like Antonioni, Tarkowski and a bit of Bergmann's photography. Future projects? Lars promises, as usual, that the next film will be a porno.
Here's the last days breaktrough movies:
Brothers Dardenne's "The Kid with a Bike" with Cécile de France and Thomas Doret
"The Tree of life" by Terrence Malick, the movie who split up the critics.
and "The artist" true revelation of the festival in French comedy. A Black/White movie about the tragedy of sound movies in 1928.
