Ci sono post che scrivo più volentieri di altri, alcuni a cui tengo in modo particolare: questo per esempio. 1 Billion Hungry è una campagna di pressione che è stata lanciata dalla FAO (Food and Agricolture Organization) e dal WFP (World Food Program) per combattere la fame nel mondo. Sulla terra siamo circa 6 miliardi e mezzo, di questi circa 1 miliardo soffre la fame: soffrire la fame vuol dire che mentre ci sono individui che producono e consumano molto di più di quanto è loro necessario, ce ne sono almeno altrettanti che muoiono perchè non hanno da mangiare.
Non lo sappiamo, ce ne dimentichiamo, facciamo finta di non saperlo, o semplicemente lo ignoriamo perchè la nostra ricchezza esiste (anche) grazie alla loro povertà. Bene, facciamo qualcosa. Mobilitiamoci e raccogliamo firme, arriviamo a essere un miliardo di persone che dicono basta. Un miliardo di persone come sono un miliardo le persone che in questo momento hanno già saltato il pranzo o già sanno che salteranno la cena.
Il progetto 1 Billion Hungry ha un testimonial d'eccezione, un Jeremy Irons in gran forma, che in un video riprende la celebre scena di 5 Potere in cui Peter Finch e urlava e faceva urlare la famosa frase "sono incazzato nero e tutto questo non lo accetterò più!".

There are posts that i love to write, more than others, some that i care about in a special way: this one for example. 1 Billion Hungry is a lobbying campaign that was launched by the FAO (Food and Agriculture Organization) and WFP (World Food Program) to fight world hunger. On earth we are about 6 billions and a half, of these 1 billion hungry: hungry means that while there are human beings that produce and consume much more than is necessary to them, there are at least as many who die because they do not have to eat.
We do not know it, we forget it, we pretend not to know it or simply ignore it because our wealth exists (also) because of their poverty. Well, it's time to do something! Mobilize and collect signatures, we get to be a billion people who say that's enough. One billion people like one billion people who now have skipped lunch or already know they will miss the dinner.
Project 1Billion Hungry has a testimonial, Jeremy Irons in great shape, in a video that takes the famous scene of Network in which Peter Finch shouted and screamed the famous phrase "I'm mad as hell and I'm not going to take this anymore!!"
