Non capita spesso che dopo una giornata sfiancante, morto di freddo e seriamente intenzionato a cadere direttamente da li a pochi minuti nelle braccia di morfeo, scendi per strada e ti ritrovi parlare con un amico che ti consiglia uno dei progetti musicali più interessanti dell'ultimo anno, sconvolgendoti la serata e finisci a fare notte fonda divorando tutto quello che riguarda Maxmillion Dunbar.
Andrew Field-Pickering americano del Maryland, è un artista abbastanza conosciuto nel panorama musicale mondiale, sono a sua firma progetti importanti come Flying Lotus, quest'ultimo negli anni scorsi hanno dato un serio contributo alla "beat revolution" della scena indie mondiale. Cool Water il suo album di debutto sotto lo pseudonimo di Maxmillion Dunbar, mi è sembrato un disco elegantissimo fin dal primo ascolto. Liquido nei suoni, rigoglioso nella composizione, si caratterizza sopratutto per le atmosfere "ambient" ma in qualche caso non disdegna accelerazioni "disco". Sicuramente ho molto da capire ascoltando questo album, ma se la coscienza non mi inganna, credo di aver scoperto un ottima colonna sonora per le prossime settimane.
